photoblog image Barcelona in Miniature

Barcelona in Miniature

This is an edit of a shot I posted in April this year. I saw this technique mentioned on DPreview and had a go myself. It certainly changes the image.

In the full size version, you can't help but zoom in to see all the detail in the tiny buildings and the little cars, just like a model.

Very cleverly done Chris. The priapic blue plastic thingy looks even more intrusive in this shot, but it seems to amplify the 'model' look of it.
Chris Macnamara: Thanks Lilith. It is a monstrosity in the middle of this wonderful city, but sadly we can do nothing about it. The pond loves being clean now.
Hi Chris, I don't know what it is about this "Shift Lens" trick but the effect is quite magic. I have used it my self a few times and if you get the right image it works a treat.

This is a particularly good example. Not sure about the blue vibrator though :0
Chris Macnamara: Alistair, thanks. Doesn't everyone have a 200 foot blue vibrator in the middle of their pictures of Barcelona?
Hard to believe it is a model with all this detail. Amazing Photo.Ye the blue thingy does stand out.
Chris Macnamara: Hi Gale. Not sure if you are taking the p$*s, but it'ds not a model. I used a Photoshop process, often referred to as tilt and shift. If you click on the word "April" in my description, you'll see the original I worked from.
